Femi Kuti is a son of Fela Kuti,
inventor of AfroBeat, and heir
apparent to the throng
of followers of the original
Nigerian music god.

In 1999 he won
Best Male Artist
for all of Africa.

His band is called
the Positive Force
because his hope is that
the Nigerian people will
take pride in themselves and
have the confidence to solve
their own problems rather than
looking at the negative aspects
of their situation.
