Born in Congo of Angolan descent, Ricardo fell for the Cuban son montuno music while in Africa. He moved to Los Angeles in the 70's and started Makina Loca in 1990. He mixes the old-style Congolese rumba with the Cuban music he loves to create a new sound all his own. |
