King Sunny Ade was influenced by I.K. Dairo's highlife, and the juju of Tunde Nightingale, when he formed his first band in 1966 called the Green Spots. The band changed names in the early 70's when they became the African Beats. He typically travels with a large ensemble with 20+ people in the group. |
