African Music Concerts Week of Jul 1 - Jul 3

Modern Congolese dance music is a mixture of pop, guitars, high-pitched male voices and a danceable beat. The guitar work here is the big reason to see Ngo live, but also the updating of the well-known Congolese sound, mixing traditions with modernity to liven up the music.

Senegalese dancer/choreographer Niancho Sanneh is joined by kora players Fode and Badialye Cissoko, plus stiltwalkers and other entertainers in the telling of two classic West African tales, "Coumba and the Dark Spirit of the River" plus "Magee and the Magic Drum". The evening starts at 7PM with an optional African Dinner and marketplace.
