Forè-Foté
Guinean djembe drummers from the Susu tribe are featured in this percussive group. The group is led by master drummer and teacher Lamine Dibo Camara. The rest of the crew are all current or former members of Guinean National Ballets which toured the world spreading their culture and musical tradition.
Sat, Jul 24
Bembeya Jazz
Another Guinean show the same night is featured for those closer to San Diego. The trademark 4 guitars of Bembeya are led by Sekou "Diamond Fingers" Diabaté but their vocals are just as mesmerizing. Come hear their latest music, a new CD after a 14-year hiatus. |
