African Music Concerts Week of Aug 22 - Aug 28

Led by a professor of musicology at Northridge, this group performs the traditional Shona music of Zimbabwe featuring the might marimba, or thumb organ. The music celebrates deeply spiritual and religious beliefs using a very simple harmony that is mesmerizing. Learn something about these instruments at one of the free outdoor concerts this summer.
