African Music Concerts Week of Oct 10 - Oct 16
Sun, Oct 10
Eva Ayllón
Known as the Queen of Lando, this Peruvian diva makes her West Coast debut. She has produced more than 20 albums. If you have listened to The Soul of Black Peru, then you have heard the Lando sound. It is a blend of African beats with Latin melodies and was the product of an African culture transplanted to Peru. Their culture nearly disappeared in the '60s but it is receiving some international recognition now that will hopefully allow it to survive.
