African Music Concerts Week of Dec 5 - Dec 11

The djembe drum is normally reserved for men only. This local band consists of African women and American women who have studied (and teach) African drumming. Their voices harmonize over the rhythms of the drums -- unless their focus is on a flurry of hands and the beat of the drum.
