African Music Concerts Week of Apr 3 - Apr 9

Come out to see the Pulitzer nominated play about Black-on-Black discrimination in the Gullah-Geechee culture of South Carolina's Sea Islands. The play investigates the racism that favors lighter skinned individuals over their more African looking neighbors. Love, alcohol, generational chasms and other complexities of everyday life are intricately wound into a heart-wrenching story. Highly recommended. Now extended through April 30!

The 2005 African Goodwill Awards show will be held in Culver City this year. It seeks to honor those who have helped African causes in the US. Majek Fashek will be entertaining the audience during this event with his own brand of Nigerian roots reggae which combines many of the native styles of music with Jamaican reggae.
