Sun 28 Jul 7:30 Femi Kuti and the Positive Force is the continuation of Fela Kuti's reign as AfroBeat King. The band includes Femi's wife and sister as dancers, and him as a mad saxoponist and vocalist. They turn the heat up so much on their music that Femi usually ends up shirtless and drenched in sweat. Femi has been making an annual trek to LA for a few years now. This time he is joined at the Bowl by Les Nubians from Cameroon for a Sunday evening under the stars. |
