Najite has a 14-piece AfroBeat band called the Ogun Prophecy that performs songs from his recent CD as well as covers of old Fela Kuti songs. The music is a mix of old highlife jazz from the 60's and some afrobeat from the early 70's in style. They have a very deep sound when Jerri Jheto teams up on bass. Najite started playing congas for Fela when he was 18 years old.

He kicks off 2003 performing as the headliner for the after party of the Pan African Film Festival. The opening movie is at the El Capitan with Danny Glover and Whoopi Goldberg; the concert is across the street at the Hollywood & Highland mall on the top floor dance club.
