Bakersfield College Shadow Zu is led by Dragon Ivre (Drunken Dragon). They have 4 Senegalese MCs and are working to make a name for themselves in France, so most of their ciphers are French. Senegal is where some of the hottest hip-hop and rap on the continent is coming from these days, so this is a rare opportunity for Los Angeles. These guys are currently based in San Bernadino and may be doing more shows once they finish their first CD. The performance on Dec. 15 will include other local rappers and some B-boys and B-girls breaking it down on their portable linoleum dance floor. This is not an African only night, but is a celebration of Hip-Hop Unity. |
