Don't let the rough neighborhood scare you, because Fais Do-Do has some
interesting music going on and the crowds are big enough to deter any
shenanigans if you don't wander too far from the front door. They don't
generally have African music, sticking with American DJ music from the
60s, 70s, and 80s, but there is an occasional gig here and there influenced
by the Cajun flavor.
The building used to be an old bank and still has some of the Art
Deco accoutrements, including traditional black and white tile
(check the pix on their site and especially the Club Cafe sign),
but the character is more of a "joint" that is frequented by the
Hollywood crowd.
